The Nintendo 64, one of the BEST gaming systems of ALL TIME. The one we all got for x-mas years ago, remember?  Yeah well, that same System is now on the iPhone/iTouch WITH: *drumroll* N64iPHONE!!! What this application does it that it emulates (simulates) the Nintendo 64, ON YOUR iPHONE!!! Yup. Now what this app does is that you can play ALL the Nintendo 64 games that you played when you were young, in the palm of your hand! One thing I really like about this, is that you can download ANY ROM (game) you want! It’s like a built in Installous! The file is saved to the “N64″ directory, and then when you play it, it loads! But one bad thing is, it has REALLY choppy framerate.I tested it out on a few ROMS and it didn’t change. One more thing I would change is a landscape mode, I really can’t play with my fingers hitting each other the WHOLE time, it’s kinda like a thumb war… With yourself. This app is totally worth the $2.50 I paid for, because you get FREE ROMs of your choice. But keep in mind that it’s illegal if you don’t physically own the game, (the cartridge.)

This emulator sells for $2.49 on the repository (source): http://cydia.zottd.com/repo/cydia/

My overall rating? 9 out of 10 stars!

Alright, so you might have seen the previous post about the “InfiniDock”, well, now this is the review. So what this app does is you have INFINITE room on your dock, pretty cool right? The way you use it is by scrolling, just like your regular home screen. This app has a lot of bugs, sometimes it can only hold 6-7 applications, the scrolling is sometimes REALLY laggy, but reinstalling that will help. Another bug I noticed is that it slows down your iDevice like shoot! I own a 3GS with a majority of space available. I had to get rid of it, reinstalling didn’t help either. But the modification had just entered the Cydia/Rock store a few days ago. So I guess it is buggy. The pros are: This app can hold an infinite number of icons, thus, less pages for you, meaning less effort to scroll, meaning your finger is…NEVER MIND. This app camouflages with your iPhone/iPod’s dock, meaning it looks like a standard 4-icon dock when it’s at the first page. So you can hide icons in the back, and people will never know!

This “tweak” sells for $0.99 (a bargain) and is available in the Cydia/Rock store now.

My overall rating? 9.98 out of 10 stars!

Ah, the year 2001. The revolutionary “iPod” was released.  Thousands of units were sold, and it was heck of a product. 5 gigabytes of storage, 1000 songs, all in your pocket. It was great. And then, the iPhone, and the iPod Touch was released in 2007, and where was the click wheel? It was gone… Replaced by a capacity based touch screen. And now, you can revive those old moments by an app called, “iClassic.” What this app does is that it emulates the iPod Classic. You have the click wheel, and the whole interface. A few things this app lacks is video playback, some of the built-in games (that would be very nice) and the organization tools, such as: Calendar, timer, reminders, etc. etc. This app comes with two themes, (or should I say “colors”)  black, and silver. BUT, you can get more themes on Cydia, by using WinterBoard. But other than that, this app really makes me remember my old iPod, and all that music I put on it. It was like a child to me.

iClassic sells for $2.00 in the Cydia store. This app would get a 9/10 stars, but with all of the features lacking, it loses 3 stars.

My overall rating? 6 out of 10 stars!

Have you ever forgot to put your iPod Touch/iPhone on silent during school, or in meetings, and then it goes off and you’re idiotically going through your pockets, trying to turn it off?  Well, with 3, measly dollars, you can end these horrific events. The app is called: AutoSilent. Basically, what this app does is that it bypasses the silent switch on your iPhone, or in other words, it mutes your iPod Touch/iPhone. For example, I set the timer to 8 AM through 3PM, because those are my school hours. And it is Auto Silents job to make the iPod Touch/iPhone go into silent mode. This app is really useful for all of those forgetful people out there, and it is also useful, for basically, everyone. HOWEVER, the is one small con, sometimes, the app starts up late, 2-3 minutes late, to be exact. But it’s really not a biggie.

My overall rating? 8 out of 10 stars!

Ever wonder if you can play Street Fighter, or even Mario on your phone? Amazingly, the Nintendo Emulator enables you to play these games on your iPhone! The NES allows you to play ROM Images, and home made games.

There are many features that come with the emulator. Some include: multi-touch directional pad including +A, +B, Light Gun “Tap,” and even a landscape view of what you’re playing!

You may be asking yourself: “Is the Emulator legal?”

Well, they are legal. The game ROMS are fine but the actual games aren’t. If you own the game or if you previously owned it then its perfectly fine.

Nevertheless, I highly recommend you to download the Nintendo Emulator because it is so fun, and will definitely keep you entertained!

***WARNING***

NES IS VERY ADDICTIVE, SO INSTALLING THIS IS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Have an iPhone 2G/3G and jealous of the one’s who have a 3GS and want a video recorder? Don’t be! With Cydia, you can download a video application called Cycorder which lets you record or video anything you’d like! Obviously, the quality is not as strong as the 3GS video recorder, however, Cycorder is not bad at all. Cycorder records at the maximum speed of the iPhone camera (6-15 frames per second), and is very satisfying. To tell you the truth, there are a few negatives about Cycorder.

One is that, you cannot upload these videos… Meaning they cannot be transferred or uploaded to anywhere. Secondly, these videos cannot be sent to anyone (via MMS or e-mail),  which the 3GS can. Lastly, Cycorder can only record 6484.9 MiB which means, you have a time restraint with whatever you are recording.

Personally, I really love the application Cycorder and use it often. If you are the type who records interesting finds, I strongly suggest you install this off Cydia. [*You must have a 2G (First Generation), 3G (Second Generation) iPhone. NOT a 3GS!*] Overall, Cycorder is top-notch and a wonderful application to have. Plus, it’s free!

My overall rating? 8.5 out of 10!
