Jolly Green Giant Installous

I don’t yet know why, but I could honestly care less. Appulo.us was going downhill ever since the troll bridge. Even after the troll bridge and the server changes, it was still just as slow (maybe a little faster, but still slow). But now, Installous no longer takes you to Appulo.us, it takes you to Apptrackr. It is the best thing to happen to pirat… err… “Try-before-you-buy” for a long time. Don’t believe me? Tap the jolly green giant and see for yourself!

ProSwitcher and OverBoard developer chpwn (at least that is what he is known as on Twitter) has created, yet another, iPhone changing app. An infinite dock. The dock works like the regular iPhone dock when it comes to adding and removing icons, but, when you pass 4, you can then scroll an infinitely expanding dock. Yes, you can put all the apps in the app store on your dock. Why? Because 5 was not enough, 7 was ugly, and stacks were overrated. The app/mod is for sale on the Cydia Store for $0.99.

IF YOU HAVE DESKTOP/SMS BACKGROUND INSTALLED (like I did) YOU WILL NEED TO UNINSTALL IT FOR THIS APP/MOD TO WORK!!!

You have probably seen stories about keeping your iPhone safe posted all over the web, but we at iPwnAge can not stress this enough! One of the most popular devices in the world is also the favorite of many “hackers”, many of which have no idea what they are doing. When you jailbreak your iDevice, you are opening it up allowing for open-development (think of it as unlocking safe and leaving it open when you are done). And as much as you don’t want to believe it, yes, there are many viruses for the iPhone. Most of which are harmless, but many of which have the potential to steal your contacts, your phone number, even your credit-card information. Plus, lets not forget, your iPhone can also get stolen (duh). So without further ado, the steps you should take to stay safe.

Fret no longer!  Emilio Pelàez, the programmer of the app, has created an iPod Classic emulator that has just been submitted to the App Store and the Cydia Store for $1.99.  Called iClassic, this app/mod will allow you to browse your iPhone or iPod Touch in the same menu format as the iPod Classic (that includes playing music) as well as browsing with an onscreen click wheel as opposed to swiping.  Some small downsides,  version 1.0 will not include apps or videos.  iClassic is now on the Cydia Store, just search “iClassic” and then download!

Make it ra1n, with the new 3.1.x jailbreaker, blackra1n.

First off, blackra1n is the SIMPLEST jailbreaking method yet. All you do is click. You read right, click.
No DFU mode, No firmware selection, nothing, nada, zilch.

I mean, you don’t even need a tutorial to use it, and if you do, get to the doctor A.S.A.P, you have a disease called Dumbass Syndrome.

And what’s even more awesome is that they include the new Rock Your Phone app, Rock. I am telling you that this is THE best Packaging application that I have ever touched. The scrolling and overall feel is a bit awkward, but in a few updates, it should be all fixed. Oh and did I mention that it supports ALL packages, including Cydia’s APT based sources.

Trust me, this is the new crusher, I will do an application review on it later, not now :)

Oh, if you read the Jailbreaking log, this is what is says:

INFO: send command started
INFO: file opened
ioctl: 0
INFO: command geohot sent
INFO:  I JUST DROPPED IT LIKE ITS HOT
WARN:  wtf who called this?
INFO:  global callback finished
INFO:  unused callback called

While I rejailbroke my iPhone I also discovered something very interesting. For those of you who like to cheat on games, today is your lucky day. I discovered 2 games with patches: Fieldrunners, and Zenonia.

Fieldrunners is a classic Tower Defense game with open field which means YOU create the path you want the people to go and be destroyed on. Of course you need money to buy weapons and you have lives which you lose when you run out of lives. Now, normally you would start with 20 lives and I think 20 bucks. Install the patch on Cydia, games section, start a new game, and you will start with 15k money, and 999 lives.

Zenonia is an RPG game. I won’t go much into it because I have already done a review on it. Installing the Zenonia patch is different because there are 4 patches. The first is what I believe for all firmwares and Zenonia 1.1 only. The second and third are for firmwares below 3.0 firmware only. The last one is for all firmwares but Zenonia 1.0. Now, normally when you start the game, you would start with no skills and 10 for all stats. If you install the patch you get unlimited skills and stats, gain more EXP than you deserve, and when you sell items they sell for a lot more than what they are worth. I think you have to reinstall Zenonia before you install the patch because it doesn’t seem to work for me and I don’t want to reinstall it so if the patch works for you when you reinstall Zenonia please comment and tell me if it worked.

One last note: Don’t forget that you have to HAVE the game before you install these patches. It does NOT come with the game.

I will also post more game patches if I find any and if YOU find any contact us or comment here and you will be rewarded GREATLY! No I’m joking you won’t be rewarded GREATLY but we may be able to find a way to reward you not GREATLY!

EDIT:

It turns out that you DON’T have to reinstall Zenonia. I have got the unlimited gold to work without starting a new game or reinstalling. Of course there is unlimited stats also where you can make your strength thousands of points higher to destroy monsters in one hit. You can also raise HP and SP. You also level up 10 times easier.

Most of you Apple fanboys and girls may think that this is totally stupid and dumb. Think about it. Running any other OS, even if it is old and is being emulator, is cool.

Not only will you be able to run Windows 95, but also Windows 3.1. The whole thing uses the Bochs cross platform IA-32 emulator. It was ported over to the iPhone by the guys over at GooDiPhone.com. It doesn’t use a lot of system resources, but it’s just slow. It doesn’t use a whole lot of RAM, which leads me to think that it is just the way the emulator is built.

Although both operating systems are extremely slow, it’s neat to say that you can run them on a iPhone. Wanna try it out? Let’s get started!

You’ll need a few things before hand:
+ A jailbroken iPhone/iPod Touch.
+ MobileTerminal installed on the device.
+ A copy of “bochs.deb”, which you can download… HERE

Once you have those things, follow these instructions:
1. Transfer “bochs.deb” to /private/var/mobile.
2. Run MobileTerminal on your iPhone.
3. Type in the following:
su
alpine
dpkg -i bochs.deb
4. It will then install everything for you. Do this command to exit out of Terminal:
killall Terminal
5. Do a respring and you should notice “Bochs” on your homescreen. Start it up.

Enjoy Windows 3.1 & Windows 95 on your iPhone or iPod Touch, despite how slow it may be!

PS: Windows 3.1 boots considerably faster than Windows 95, and is considerably faster, too.
