A classic that’s the center of Vegas, several versions have been made yet this one stands out, this week’s app review, The Reel Machine.
Much thanks to Chris who found this great app for me, this app’s quality, performance and graphics (especially graphics), have really surprised me. Normally I’m not one for slots games because I’m not much of a luck kind of person, I’m more of a skills person (Yes, I have much skill) but this app got me playing for a pretty long time.
Basically, you put in your wager and you can either click to spin or you can pull the lever. Sounds are quite realistic. You can also submit your highscore and it saves your score automatically every time you leave (not that you have a choice). What’s also pretty imaginative
is that you get to cash out your money and put in coins one by one. You can also dump all the coins to the floor and then magically pick them up again. If you get the word “machine” to stop on all three slots you get to spin ” The Reel Wheel” where the values range from none to 6,000. Overall, great app, 99 cents is well worth the price and I believe they have a promotional code which you can email Chris (chris@ipwnage.com) for. Once again, thanks Chris, for finding this great app for me.
My overall rating? 9 out of 10 stars!
EDIT: Sorry about the confusion but turns out the promo code was only a one time deal but still definitely worth 99 cents.

First there was FML, then there was TFLN, then there was MLIA. Now from the creator of the original comes the new site Apple Rejected Me (or ARM for short.)

On this site, iPhone developers can tell the tales of what their iPhone app was supposed to do and why it got rejected. Then you, the reader, get to vote and comment on the ARM. Of course there are going to be people who post random things; but once the serious developers that got rejected check out this site, I feel it could persuade Apple into double checking before rejecting.
Here’s some of the posts from the site:
-I made a App tha allowed the Iphone be able to tell if you had bad breath. Apple said: “this is not supposed to work” ARM
-I made an app of Tic-Tac-Toe for the iphone. Apple sent me a letter saying it was too confusing for the average user. ARM.
-I made an App that allowed people to access a mobile version of applerejectedme.com, to read ARM’s and to write ARM’s. ARM.
-i made an app that incorporated your contacts with google voice. ARM
-I started making an app. One minute later, Apple sent me an email saying “Don’t even think about it”. ARM.
UPDATE: You can now download the ARM dashboard widget and follow @AppleRejectedMe on Twitter
Alright, so I’ve been seeing posts around Twitter stating that they found out the iPod touch is getting camera on 4th Gen iTouch. First off, lemme’ just say that it’s never going to happen.
Go ahead, prove me wrong with your “sources” but I have pure-buisness like proof. I call it: Common Sense.
Just think at it from a corporation stand-point. You want to make money, no? So why would you sell two same products, just ones cheaper? You wouldn’t, that’s why. Let me dumb it down for you. If the iPod had a camera, then it’s exactly like the iPhone. It can make calls, go on the internet, and so on. However, with the iTouch, all you need is a constant hotspot. Verizon and Sprint sell them, they’re called MiFi. So if people do this, then Apple and AT&T will loose money.
Think about it that way, and you will see why the iTouch will never get a camera.
**no offence chris**

Okay, so we all remember the big rumors just about a month ago that the iPod Touch 3G would have a camera. Also, as we all know, that just turned into the biggest disappointment that ever came from Apple. Well now, just a short month later, and almost a year before the next Apple iPod event, the iPod Touch rumors have resurfaced. Pictures like the one seen above are starting to pop up everywhere. This one, featured on covinoandrich.com has got many nonbelievers wondering. It features a side-by-side comparison of an iPod Touch 2G-3G next to a (real?) iPod Touch 4G with a camera in the middle, the same camera that was just added to the iPod Nano 5G. Whether you believe it or not, there are going to be many more photos just like this one that will arise in the next year. Get ready!
We all know that David is usually the one who does the Accessory Reviews but he’s taking a one week vacation to enjoy his new DROID (I put it in caps cause that’s the way he would’ve wanted it). So instead, while David’s taking Tylenol to relieve his “DroidHangover” Disease, I’ll cover for him.
We’re gonna start with the most basic and most used accessory for the iDevice, a portable charger. Yes David has done many reviews on portable but either they’re too pricey or don’t work. Yes the Tekkeon TekCharge Mobile Power and Battery Charger is great and cheap but I have found it doesn’t charge smartphones such as the iPhone as well as it charges iPods or MP3’s and it uses batteries so I have found an alternative. RichardSolo 1800 WITH a cable. Great portable charger. Charges my iPhone at least 2 times. I once forgot to put my iPhone to sleep while charging and when I came back it was fully charged still with more than 20% juice left. For those of you who own an iPod with the headphone jack at the bottom the cable won’t block that out so you can still listen to music. This charger is lightweight, has a LED light and a laser pointer. You basically plug the RichardSolo 1800 into the wall at night, plug your iDevice into the RichardSolo 1800 and in the morning you’ll find both fully charged. The lights indicate when it’s charging or when there’s only 20% juice left in it. We’re not done yet, if you buy 2 of these you get 10 bucks off the original $69.95. The whole package contains the RS008 RichardSolo 1800, the iDevice USB cable, the car charger with two USB slots, the Apple connector cable, the wall adapter and a custom iPhone 3G case that comes free. It’s a great deal considering when you buy the car charger from Apple they charge you 20 bucks and when you buy it here you can use their car charger for your iDevice also. The only problem with this device is that it doesn’t work for iPod Shuffle and if you lose the iDevice USB cable you’re screwed. I also have to mention that the charging output is great. It’s the same output as if you were charging through a wall adapter or a computer.

My overall rating? 9.5 out of 10 stars!
You have probably seen stories about keeping your iPhone safe posted all over the web, but we at iPwnAge can not stress this enough! One of the most popular devices in the world is also the favorite of many “hackers”, many of which have no idea what they are doing. When you jailbreak your iDevice, you are opening it up allowing for open-development (think of it as unlocking safe and leaving it open when you are done). And as much as you don’t want to believe it, yes, there are many viruses for the iPhone. Most of which are harmless, but many of which have the potential to steal your contacts, your phone number, even your credit-card information. Plus, lets not forget, your iPhone can also get stolen (duh). So without further ado, the steps you should take to stay safe.
What was originally from the company Walaber comes the sequel to Jelly Car. This week’s app, Jelly Car 2.
Ever played Jelly Car? If you haven’t it’s basically where you are a car that’s made of jelly so you can never crash. You go though obstacles to reach the end and you can compete for fastest time and there are different stages to play. Now comes Jelly Car 2, same concept, game fail. Go ahead, check AppStore, sure they have a 4 star rating but if you’ve ever played the game you should know the 4 star rating are lies and 99 cents isn’t worth it.
At this point you may be thinking, “Steven’s going insane. C’mon, 30 levels with level editor, different modes, and 4 star rating, it has to be worth 99 cents.” Wrong, you wanna know why? Lemme list’em out for you.
Pros: (Yes, it does have a few)
1. 30 levels
2. Different modes
3. Level editor
Cons: (There are enough to form a mob and beat the pros senseless)
1. Music is fail, they think that playing a song and then stopping in the middle of it for a pause and then continuing the song makes it sound “good” but all it does is make it sound retarded.
2. Controls don’t respond to touch well, it’s hard to play because it takes forever to respond to touch.
3. Level editor glitches like hell and doesn’t work well.
4. The game moves so slowly it doesn’t even feel like it’s moving.
5. Crash, game crashes when your iDevice is jailbroken, you have too many apps, you’ve played too long (which I’m sure you won’t), or when the app just feels like crashing
6. The app is from Walt Disney. Because of the fact this app is from Walt Disney, it scares away a good number of customers. Want proof?
“David: Hey look, Jelly Car 2 came out. Me: Yeah but there’s a prob- David: WHAT THE HELL?! IT’S FROM WALT DISNEY!!! Me: Yeah that was the problem. David: WHY THE HELL DID THEY SELL IT TO DISNEY?!”
There you go, expert advice too.
I will admit, it is a fun game to play when it DOESN’T lag, crash, controls respond well and you have the music turned off. It can keep you occupied for a while but I wouldn’t pay 99 cents for it. No, not the worst app I’ve ever reviewed but a pretty bad one.

My overall rating? 5 out of 10! (WALT DISNEY=FAIL!)
Have an iPhone 2G/3G and jealous of the one’s who have a 3GS and want a video recorder? Don’t be! With Cydia, you can download a video application called Cycorder which lets you record or video anything you’d like! Obviously, the quality is not as strong as the 3GS video recorder, however, Cycorder is not bad at all. Cycorder records at the maximum speed of the iPhone camera (6-15 frames per second), and is very satisfying. To tell you the truth, there are a few negatives about Cycorder.
One is that, you cannot upload these videos… Meaning they cannot be transferred or uploaded to anywhere. Secondly, these videos cannot be sent to anyone (via MMS or e-mail), which the 3GS can. Lastly, Cycorder can only record 6484.9 MiB which means, you have a time restraint with whatever you are recording.
Personally, I really love the application Cycorder and use it often. If you are the type who records interesting finds, I strongly suggest you install this off Cydia. [*You must have a 2G (First Generation), 3G (Second Generation) iPhone. NOT a 3GS!*] Overall, Cycorder is top-notch and a wonderful application to have. Plus, it’s free!

My overall rating? 8.5 out of 10!
Fret no longer! Emilio Pelàez, the programmer of the app, has created an iPod Classic emulator that has just been submitted to the App Store and the Cydia Store for $1.99. Called iClassic, this app/mod will allow you to browse your iPhone or iPod Touch in the same menu format as the iPod Classic (that includes playing music) as well as browsing with an onscreen click wheel as opposed to swiping. Some small downsides, version 1.0 will not include apps or videos. iClassic is now on the Cydia Store, just search “iClassic” and then download!

Have you ever been stumped on picking a Winterboard theme? Too many choices to choose? Well, here’s a really good one; Iceman Southpark.
It offers a variety of wonderful things such as the bright and appealing colors, a very unique style, and the characters on the dock are very intricate. Also, Iceman Southpark gives you a good mood, and if you’re a fan of Southpark, this theme will certainly, not dissapoint you. However, what this theme lacks, is that it does not have audio, and gets boring after a while. Nevertheless, if you’re searching for a theme that’ll satisfy you, listen to me and go with Iceman South Park!
My overall rating? 9 out of 10 stars!
