If you’re like me, and own a first gen iTouch, most likely your experiencing a ton of crashing, lags, and random outbursts of “FML’s”
Well, with a couple of tips, you can get your iPod in decent condition. You’ll need about 5 bucks, and some spare time. Oh, and one note. It’s obvious that if you restore your jailbroken iTouch, and keep it with stock firmware, you will be faster. However, if you want to keep jailbroken (good idea) there are some apps you can use to help speed up your iPod. So with that aside, lets get started.
Apparently I’m in debt to Chris twice now because his Appvent Post gave me an idea, one that will surely tire me out and require much coffee to complete. Also note that I won’t be posting for about until after New Year’s (which is also David’s birthday) because this task has cracked me in half. Well, remember Chris’ post on Appvent? Free app everyday until Christmas? That’s right, I’m reviewing every single one and picking the best out of them all. Consider yourself lucky because Appvent is giving these out for free and because I’m usually lazier than DAVID. Yes it is possible to be lazier than David
Ok, let’s start.
Apple, We’ve gone through some rough times, I’ve lost faith, I’ve regained faith, I’ve lost it again. NOW I LOVE YOU!!! Nescaline is the first emulator of any sort (that I’m aware of) that has been allowed through the extremely rough app approval process. I’m hoping Steven will review this one before it gets pulled because (unless Apple has completely decided to throw out their rule book) the most certainly will.
Nescaline is available on the iTunes App Store for $6.99 (Yes it is a high price but that is a HUGE deal considering all of the ROMS you get)
Hmm… First a video recorder app, now this, maybe Apple is changing their mind!
UPDATE: The app was was pulled from the app store (not surprisingly).
Alright guys. Yes; I’ve been mourning lately about the loss of my Droid(Droid/iTouch owner, don’t worry.). However, after recently analytics, I need to upgrade my Servers, we were hit with a DDoS attack a week ago, and it fried my two of four servers. The total cost to replace would be about 2000$ USD.
Although I am getting them, I do need some sort of support. My goal is to reach about 200 Dollars. Yes, that little. I don’t believe in Advertisements all over a website, which is why we don’t have any. But if I can’t get to the 200 dollar goal, I am going to have to start putting ads on iPwnAge
Please keep iPwnAge alive by donating. Even a dollar would help.
Thanks, David
Alright, so we know that David hasn’t been posting for a while (if you don’t know you should start paying more attention) but that’s okay, we’re gonna cut him some slack because he’s mourning over his Droid. So David doesn’t do the review, I’ve been tearing my house apart to find an accessory to review but I can’t find one so you shall enjoy (enjoying is optional) this one instead. Please remember that I still have to do my Christmas Review so if this review is really bad then comment on this post to get David to get out of his mourning. Now let’s continue.
Okay, as you can see, this an accessory review but I’m gonna compare two types of headphones. Now, one is for iPod, one for iPhone, which one is better? Let’s save the best for last, which means we’ll do the Pros first.
Classic iPod Earphones: Pros:
1. Fits great, doesn’t slip out easily.
2. Works for both devices
3. You can actually answer calls with it on the iPhone but for the caller to hear you shouting is necessary
iPhone Stereo Headset: Pros:
1. Calling feature works great
2. Answer/End calls with a super cool button on the headset
3. Pause/Play/Next song/Previous song with a super cool button on the headset
4. Easier to untangle
Now the cons (MWAHAHAHA) <— I think I’ve had too much coffee
Classic iPod Earphones: Cons:
1. SUPER hard to untangle, there’s less friction so it slips between knots easily
2. No super cool button on the earphone
iPhone Stereo Headset: Cons:
1. I don’t know if this is just my pair but they are SUPER loose, they fall out the second I put them in. Maybe it’s just my pair but I didn’t pay 35 bucks for some damn headphones that WON’T STAY IN. I rest my case
2. I find them to break more easily, actually it’s because my old pair broke which is why I bought this pair. THEY USED TO BE 20 DOLLARS! Just saying
One last note, the Classic iPod Earphones generally have a louder sound and the earphone itself is longer. It depends what you like so you can classify it yourself as pro or con.
Who wins? Okay, I would listen to the iPhone pair because I payed 35 BUCKS FOR IT but if I got both for free, it would be a difficult choice. I would say iPod earphones because they’re long enough for me to slip through my sleeve, put my hand at my ears like I’m slouching and listen during class
*Note to the reader* If you are currently pissed at Steven for writing such a terrible review remember that this is 1 in the morning and you can complain about it by emailing him at steven@ipwnage.com
Ever wonder if you can play Street Fighter, or even Mario on your phone? Amazingly, the Nintendo Emulator enables you to play these games on your iPhone! The NES allows you to play ROM Images, and home made games.
There are many features that come with the emulator. Some include: multi-touch directional pad including +A, +B, Light Gun “Tap,” and even a landscape view of what you’re playing!
You may be asking yourself: “Is the Emulator legal?”
Well, they are legal. The game ROMS are fine but the actual games aren’t. If you own the game or if you previously owned it then its perfectly fine.
Nevertheless, I highly recommend you to download the Nintendo Emulator because it is so fun, and will definitely keep you entertained!
***WARNING***
NES IS VERY ADDICTIVE, SO INSTALLING THIS IS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

If you have a 3G [S] or Cycorder, ignore this post and go read about how there will be no more reviews until Christmas (OH NOES!). If you have an iPhone EDGE or 3G and you are not jailbroken this is the post for you!
First, you should probably think about jailbreaking, it is extremely easy and there are so many advantages to it. Second, Apple has just released an app to the app store called iVideoCamera. This app will allow you to take up to 1 minute videos at an amazing 3 FPS. Yes, I know you are overwhelmed, but when you think about it, that is 60 seconds and 3 FPS more than you had before.
I suggest checking this out, it is $0.99 on the App Store.
Discuss this app on our new FORUMS!
I decided to put this out to our iPwnAge viewers and especially to DAVID because I wanted you all and DAVID to know about it before DAVID could bother me about it and then write an App Review himself without telling me (which I have to admit was pretty good). Yes, I’m preparing for a special iPwnAge event for which will take up every day until Christmas (hint hint) and require much coffee to complete. If you have questions just email me at steven@ipwnage.com.
No specifics yet but all we know is that if this works, he promises an untethered jailbreak and $1,000. I will update this post as the news breaks.
UPDATE: GeoHot, the creator of blackra1n and many other jailbreak related programs has opened a contest on Twitter called “Dude its a balloon.” All he asks is that you you trend #dudeitsaballoon and check out the Dude its a Balloon website and the DARPA contest website for the full story. So head on over to Twitter and hash-tag your post with #dudeitsaballoon (even if your tweet is completely unrelated) and be on the lookout for 10 red balloons! If you find one of the balloons, you will win $1,000, and if all the balloons get found, Blackra1n will get $8,000 funding (that will go toward an untethered jailbreak).
UPDATE: 9/10 balloons found, final result. Contest over
Good job though! Almost made it!
This weeks theme review is going to be “Alit.” What an awkward name, I honestly have no clue what Alit means, whatsoever. This theme is amazing, and is so unique. When you download Alit, it’s not only an ordinary background, though, it has features such as a lockscreen, LCD LiveClock, LCD LiveClock 24H that comes with the theme when you install it. Once you activate Alit on your Winterboard, you will see that your lockscreen is mostly gray, and the “Slide to Unlock” is now a big blue dab with a small white arrow. The icons are boxy-like, and have an elaborate color to each icon; not to mention, the designs look so creative. For example, my app Cycorder has this big red dot on the right hand corner, and it looks like it’s actually video recording me…scary, much!
This is what it looks like:

My overall rating? 9.8 out of 10 stars!
